After winning the Neeme Järvi Prize at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival Conducting Academy 2017 with Johannes Schlaefli and Jaap van Zweden, Katharina Wincor was invited by Riccardo Muti to the Italian Opera Academy. In 2018, she participated in Marin Alsop's masterclass with the BBC Concert Orchestra in London. Katharina has worked with, amongst others, the Pro Arte Orchester Vienna, ASO Vienna, TU Orchestra Vienna and Mozarteumorchester Salzburg. Since 2014, Katharina has studied Orchestral Conducting in Vienna at the University of Music and Performing Arts with Prof. Mark Stringer. Since February 2018, she is continuing her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts, at the invitation of Prof. Johannes Schlaefli. In 2012, Katharina founded her own choir, „Bunte Steine“, with whom she works regularly and has been a frequent prizewinner at national and international competitions. Katharina trained as a violinist, pianist and oboist at the Senior High School of Music, Linz, and studied composition at the Anton Bruckner Private University.
