Ka Hou Fan

Ka Hou Fan, born and raised in Macau. Fan started piano studies at the age of four and later changed to flute in the the Macau Conservatory with Mr. Liu Cheng. After one year of initial studies in Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, Fan graduated in 2009 with diplomas in conducting and in flute performance. Fan graduated in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2015. He also received the Erasmus scholarship to study orchestral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar in 2014. His mentors include Fabio Luisi, Bertrand de Billy, Uroš Lajovic, Simeon Pironkoff, among others. Fan has worked with orchestras all over the world, for example the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra and the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2017 he was invited to participate in the Maestro Solti International Conducting Competition and the 10th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition.
