Swiss conductor Gevorg Gharabekyan studied conducting with Prof. Ralf Weikert at Musikhochschule Luzern from 2009 – 2011 and graduated as a Master of Arts in music with distinction. He has participated in many masterclasses (Jorma Panula, Neeme Järvi, Leonid Grin, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, David Zinman, Paavo Järvi, Robert Spano and Hugh Wolff).
Since 2013 he has worked as an artistic director and conductor of Kammerorchester I TEMPI in Basel. The orchestra is formed of young professional musicians who play a repertoire from baroque to contemporary music. In July 2015, he recorded a CD (serenades of Dvorak and Elgar and the guitar concerto of de Lhoyer) in collaboration with the label Genuin and Swiss Radio.
