Dimas Ruiz Santos
Born in Infantes (Spain) in 1980, Dimas is a conductor and oboist currently based in Finland. He graduated from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid as oboe player with the highest scores and continued his education at the Gothenburg University, where he got a Master´s degree in Orchestral Experience. From 2014 he has worked as oboe player at the Kuopio Symphony. Dimas started his conducting studies with Andrés Zarzo in 2009 and continued on a regular basis with Miguel Romea from 2010. Since 2014 he has attended masterclasses with Jorma Panula, Atso Almila, Jukka Iisakkila, Hannu Lintu and Osmo Vänskä among others. In 2016 he was accepted at the Sibelius Academy to study a Master´s degree in Wind Orchestral Conducting. As conductor, Dimas has worked with Kuopio Symphony, Vaasa City Orchestra, Filharmonía de Galicia, Ylä-Savo Sinfonietta, Matritum Ensemble and Orquesta Verum, among others.
