Ales Kománek

Aleš Kománek, laureate of the 10th G. Fitelberg International Conducting Competition in Katowice 2017 (4th place with 1st Distinction), received his education in Prague at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts under guidance of Jiří Bělohlávek, Radomil Eliška, Tomáš Koutník and Leoš Svárovský and in Vienna at the University of Music and Performing Arts where he finished his postgraduate studies in June 2012 under the leadership of Mark Stringer and Yuji Yuasa. Aleš Kománek has worked repeatedly as a guest conductor with Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Chamber Symphony Orchestra and Brno Philharmonic among others. Aleš Kománek has won scholarships of the Czech Ministry of Culture, Czech Music fund and the scholarship of the City of Ostrava. Since October 2017, Aleš has studied as a PhD candidate at the Janáček Academy of performing Arts in Brno under conductor Tomáš Hanus.
