Samuel Draper

Samuel Draper trained as a doctor at Oxford University, where he was Organ Scholar, conductor of the OU Philharmonia, and founded the Oxford Sinfonia Eroica. A scholar with the HR Taylor Trust Award, he studied post-graduate conducting at the Royal College of Music, assisting Esa-Pekka Salonen and Vladimir Jurowski.

He won the Bob Harding Bursary for Young Conductors and was prize-winner in the International Conductors’ Competition 2009 of the Kammerphilharmonie Graz. He has studied Mahler with Bernard Haitink and is Music Director of the Oberon Symphony Orchestra in London.
