Mikk Murdvee is an Estonian-born conductor and violinist living in Finland. He studied conducting at the Sibelius Academy from 2002-2007 with Leif Segerstam, Atso Almila and Jorma Panula. He has also participated in several masterclasses (with Jorma Panula, Leif Segerstam, Eri Klas, Paavo Järvi, Neeme Järvi, etc.).
He has conducted most of the professional orchestras in both Finland and Estonia. In 2011, he acted as Esa-Pekka Salonen’s assistant in London (Philharmonia Orchestra). His repertoire ranges from baroque to premieres of new music and from chamber orchestra works and symphonic repertoires to opera, operetta and ballet.
